On Saturday evening, September 11 many RAL artists particpated in the Rockwall Alliance for the Arts Gala Event held at The Harbor Hilton Hotel (www.rockwallarts.org). RAL Artists created artwork for the People’s Choice Award themed America the Beautiful. Atendees to the fundraiser voted for their favorite pieces in three categories. Winning artwork was then entered into an art auction during the event and the winning bidders got to take home a fabulous piece of art created by RAL artists. First place winners received $250 prize and a medal of recognition. 2nd Place winners were awarded medals of recognition. Additionally, since this event was a fundraiser for the arts, winning artist will receive a tax deductible contribution receipt for the full value of their artwork. The event even generated a sale for Marcus Yarbrough’s photograpic peice entitled “Chisos Storm at Sunset”. Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to all the volunteers and organizers that helped pull off this event
